Worth the detour — it sits ten to fifteen minutes off the main road on the shore of Loch Leven, and the view across the water to the mountains does a lot of the entertaining while you wait. The room is small and cosy, so tables run tight; one group ordering several dishes ended up spreading plates onto the table next door. There's buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor seating when the weather plays along, and parking is free, though the car park fills up at dinner. The food is seafood-led and properly fresh: Cullen skink, mussels in cider, big scallops, coley, and razor clams that regulars call "succulent". Food takes around twenty minutes. The team is generally cheerful and happy to show you how to crack open a shell, if occasionally a bit stretched.
