Italian · Birmingham
Tucked into Birmingham's Italian scene, this is the sort of relaxed, unpretentious place where a family meal doesn't feel like a performance — cosy, chatty, with a band playing salsa upstairs some evenings. The team are genuinely warm and know the menu inside out, and they bend over backwards on dietary needs: gluten-free pasta and pizza bases mean a coeliac child can order almost anything, and halal chicken is available too. Portions are generous and properly cooked — the mussels, duck and truffle risotto and seafood marinara come up again and again, and the tiramisu is light and airy. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, outdoor seating and vegan choices. Two honest snags: tables sit close together, so it's not quiet, and waits between courses can stretch at busy times. Worth booking.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
