Tucked away on the road out of Ruthin, this is the kind of stop that rewards a detour — and the donkeys by the car park usually settle any restless child before you've even ordered. The car park and approach are all gravel, so a pram takes some pushing, but there's a flat double-door entrance and blue badge bay right in front, plus a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking. Sit outside for views over the Clwydian range or indoors among the mixed seating. Everything is made to order, and the staff are unfussy about adapting dishes for allergies — alternative milks too. The homemade soup, the breakfasts and the range of fresh cakes get the loudest praise. It gets busy at weekends and food can take a while then, though one parent notes it's "well worth" the wait. Toilets are a short walk away in the camping grounds.
