Café · Lincoln
Set beside the Arboretum's paths, this is a small training café where the students behind the counter are unfailingly patient — handy when a toddler is loudly changing their mind about lunch. The menu is short but done properly: all-day breakfasts big enough to defeat most adults, fresh-cooked eggs however you want them, tea in a generous pot. Prices are the real draw — a full breakfast and coffee for under a fiver, at a time when a coffee alone costs £5 elsewhere in Lincoln. There are high chairs, a kids' menu, vegan options and outdoor tables where you can park a pram without apologising, plus street parking nearby. It's a weekday sort of place rather than a big family blowout, and the surrounding park makes it easy to run everyone's legs off afterwards. Dogs welcome outside too.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
