Pangbourne's Cafe
A relaxed Reading cafe with a kids' menu, high chairs, outdoor seating and vegan options — an easy stop for the whole family.

A small, softly lit dining room in Pangbourne that fills up after 7:30 — worth booking if you want space for a pram alongside the table, since it's intimate rather than roomy. The owners run it themselves and the welcome is genuinely warm; they've accommodated a group of 21 and stayed patient throughout, and they'll happily seat you very late in the evening. Portions are enormous and prices reasonable for what arrives. The prawn puri gets raved about, as do the dansaks and the egg pilau rice, and the chef's Chicken Razzella is worth asking for. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, vegan options and free parking. Service can slow down when it's busy — one family noted a wait just to get the bill — so it suits a relaxed evening more than a rushed one.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
