Restaurant · Scarborough
Tucked into Scarborough's pedestrianised centre, this Turkish-Mediterranean spot manages to feel roomy and warm even though the dining area is small, and families turning up on a busy Friday evening have still landed a walk-in table outside. The staff are genuinely good with children — colouring pencils and paper arrive unprompted, and one family with a child who has additional needs found the kitchen happy to do plain pasta with butter, then add shredded cheese unasked. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access and vegan options are all there. Portions are generous: the sharing platters, garlic butter king prawns with pita, and Iskender kebab get named again and again, and the chocolate brownie cheesecake disappears fast. Live music sometimes starts mid-evening, lovely but lively. Parking is nearby rather than outside, so factor in a short walk with the pram.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
