Fern Pit Cafe & Ferry
A laid-back, budget-friendly Newquay cafe with a kids' menu, high chairs, and outdoor seating for an easy family stop.

Restaurant · Newquay
Perched above Fistral with the sea filling the windows, this is the rare spot where a big family lunch actually works — one party of nine, ages fourteen to eighty, all came away happy. The kids' menu gets called generous rather than the usual nuggets-and-chips afterthought, and high chairs, buggy access and free parking take the faff out of arriving. Outdoor seating means somewhere to go when a toddler needs air, and the sunsets are genuinely worth timing lunch around. Food that gets the most praise: the sea bream, the halibut, a properly good veggie burger, and a chocolate mousse people still talk about. Staff are warm and unhurried with children — nothing too much trouble. One honest snag: with hard surfaces and no soft furnishings, a full room gets loud, so conversation across the table can be a struggle at peak times.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
