A calm, unhurried spot for a coffee and something proper to eat, with buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu if you're bringing little ones along. The atmosphere is what parents notice first — gentle music, an easy pace, busy without ever feeling frantic, and staff who are consistently cheerful and go out of their way (a group of ten turned up for a cream tea and were looked after beautifully). Food worth ordering: the granola bowl, avocado and shrimp toast, ham and cheese paninis with salad and crisps, freshly baked scones with plenty of jam and cream, and banana bread with cinnamon butter that one family called "heavenly". Good vegan choices, reasonable prices, a lovely view and dogs welcome too. Lunch was still being served at 3pm on one visit, which helps on a slow day out.
