All Bar One George St Edinburgh
Modern Edinburgh bar with beer, cocktails and sharing plates, plus outdoor seating — best for an early family visit before the after-work crowd arrives.

Steak house · Edinburgh
Handsome, hotel-adjacent and more polished than most steak places, this is a spot for a special family meal rather than a chaotic Tuesday lunch — but there's a kids' menu, high chairs, room to get a buggy in and tables outside when the weather plays along. The steaks are the reason to come: the ribeye is described as some of the finest in Edinburgh, and the steak sandwich arrives with real flair. Sides do a lot of work with children — the rocket corn is crisp and sweet-salty, the glazed carrots exceptional, and the parmesan and truffle fries disappear fast. There's a cauliflower steak for anyone not eating meat, and generous sharing portions. Staff are attentive and careful about allergies. One warning: leave the steak platter on its candle too long and a medium-rare turns well done.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
