Rakki Rakkas
Huge-value Turkish sharing platters, free bread and dips on arrival, roomy for prams, kids' menu, high chairs and free parking opposite.

French · Nottingham
Somewhere between a proper night out and a place that genuinely copes with children — there's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and free parking, which takes the sting out of a French dinner. The room is small and candlelit in a Parisian-bistro way, cosy rather than roomy, so it suits a pram parked beside you more than a double buggy at speed. Families come back for the pork belly, the Sunday roasts (chicken or lamb shank), the French onion soup and prawns in garlic chilli butter; portions are decent and there's a fixed-price lunch if you want it cheaper. Staff are warm and quick with food, and one large group of seven was looked after without fuss. Do book — it fills up even on a Monday, and it's the sort of quiet where a loud toddler will be heard.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
