Late on a Saturday, Wind Street can be chaos, but the front of house here takes it in stride — one family arrived at 7.45pm with a Build A Bear in a toy pram and got a warm welcome rather than a sigh, with staff happy to let a chatty four-year-old talk their ear off. There are high chairs, buggy access and a kids' menu that parents rate as genuinely good value, plus outdoor tables and vegan options. Portions are generous enough that takeaway boxes get offered without asking; the sunshine salad, katsu chicken and nachos come up again and again. Early evenings midweek are calm and quiet, weekends busy enough that booking is wise. Cocktails are a real strength if you're staying on. Delivery orders have been hit and miss — eat in.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
