Café · Burton-on-Trent
Tucked into an 1800s building, this is a proper sit-down café rather than a grab-and-go — warm inside, and quiet enough on weekdays that one family found it worked fine for a newborn. Buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu are all sorted, and free parking takes one worry off the morning. The cake cabinet is the draw: freshly baked, home-made style, and children are happy enough with cake and hot chocolate while the adults share an afternoon tea. Breakfast is the other strong suit — the eggs Benedict and the herby sausages get named again and again — and portions are generous for the price. Staff are generally attentive and quick to seat you, though service can be patchy when it's busy, so it's worth catching someone's eye rather than waiting at the counter.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
