Tucked away off the A303 near Chard, this Italian kitchen feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, but the welcome makes up for it — the team ask where you'd like to sit and food lands fast, which matters when someone's hungry and wriggling. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access, a few outdoor tables and a decent free car park right there. Portions are generous and the lunch menu runs until 5pm at a fair price, with weekday late afternoons the quietest time to bring little ones. Bruschetta, lasagna, parmesan truffle fries and the puddings get the most love — the banoffee pie, tiramisu and lemon tart especially. Worth booking, and the toilets are snug, so changing a nappy in there is a squeeze.
