Cafés · Langport
A converted wharf building on the river, with plenty of tables inside and out — though the outdoor space is short on shade in hot weather, and the riverbank weeds can block the view you came for. Brunch is the thing to arrive for: the American pancake stack with maple syrup, poached eggs and bacon on toast, hot bread pudding with chocolate and nuts, good coffee and a solid range of cold drinks. High chairs, a kids' menu, vegan choices, buggy-friendly space and free parking all help. Staff are usually warm and quick to find you a table, but service can wobble when they're short-handed — one family waited nearly an hour for food that had never reached the kitchen. Worth building in some slack if you've got hungry children. They also do private hire, and the birthday cakes get real praise.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
