Set in what used to be the village Top Shop, this is the kind of small local café where nobody minds a pram parked by the table or a toddler taking a while to decide. Buggy access and high chairs are sorted, there's outdoor seating for when small people need air, free parking outside, and a kids' menu alongside proper vegan and gluten-free cooking — the team genuinely know coeliac eating, so most of the menu is safe. Breakfasts are fresh and generous, Friday fish and chips has a following, and the cakes do a lot of heavy lifting: lemon drizzle, gluten-free chocolate brownie. Prices are gentle. It's small and busy with regulars, so cream tea needs booking ahead, and one visitor found the sausage roll underseasoned. Pizza nights run too.
