A high-protein café that turns out to be surprisingly easy with children in tow — there's a kids' menu, high chairs, and both indoor tables and a small sheltered outdoor area, so a pram and a snack in the fresh air is doable. The menu is enormous, which helps when everyone wants something different: the All American pancakes come fluffy with berries, granola and maple, and people rave about the grilled chicken breast, salmon salad bowl, chicken burger with sweet potato fries and the protein shakes. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are marked, food is made fresh so it's easy to ask for changes, and the staff are patient and allergy-aware — one visitor was charmed by "the wee notes they leave on the bag". Worth knowing: portions vary, drinks are charged separately from the deals, and a few have found it pricey.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
