Porro Llandaff
Roomier than it looks, with high chairs, a kids' menu and famously good arancini — book ahead, and allow time for parking.

Café · Cardiff
Fifteen years in and still the reason people in Llandaff walk past the newer cafés, this is a long-established spot where the staff make it easy to arrive with children in tow — friendly, patient, and quick with the food, which matters when someone's hungry and wobbling. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access, free parking and outdoor seating if you'd rather spill out into the street. The dirty fries get raved about, the tuna melt toastie has a small but devoted following, the baguettes come generously filled for the price, and the breakfasts and eggs benedict draw people back. Cakes and brownies are a proper spread. Dogs are welcome. Worth knowing it gets genuinely noisy when busy — one parent found it hard to hold a conversation — so a quieter table is easier off-peak.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
