A welcoming Cardiff bar-restaurant with a kids' menu and outdoor seating, well rated by families at a comfortable mid-range price.

Sitting on Wellfield Road with two floors and a roof terrace, this is an easy one to land with children in tow — buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu and free parking take most of the friction out of arriving. The gluten-free and vegan menus are genuinely extensive, desserts included, and portions come out generous; the fries, Buddha bowls and tapas get named again and again, and there are smoothies for children who won't touch a drink with bubbles. Ordering happens from your table via an app, which is a small mercy when someone's patience is running out, and food tends to arrive quickly. The staff are used to big, chaotic tables and take group bookings in their stride. Worth knowing: it fills up at weekend brunch, and one family ended up on a garden table they hadn't wanted.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
