Bar & grill · Bangor, County Down
Right by the water in Bangor, this is the kind of place where you can sit outside with sea views, let the children eat, then walk it all off along the front afterwards. Food comes out fast even when it's heaving, which matters when someone's hit the wall — and portions are generous enough that leftovers often go home in a box. Kids eat free with every adult meal Monday to Thursday, 12–7pm (max two children, not on public holidays), and there are high chairs, a children's menu, vegan choices and free parking. The steaks, burgers, mussels and clam chowder get the loudest praise, and the team are happy to swap things around if a fussy eater needs it. Worth knowing: prices have crept up noticeably on some dishes, so check the menu before you settle in.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
