Tucked into the Strawberry Field site, this is a genuinely easy stop with children in tow — free parking, level buggy access, high chairs and a balcony looking out over the grounds, so there's somewhere to go when small people need air. Sandwiches are made fresh to order, the soup gets particular praise, and the cakes and pots of tea are generous; prices stay reasonable for what arrives, and the staff generally move fast. Gardens to wander afterwards make it more than just a lunch stop, and Beatles-minded older children get the gallery and installation too. Worth knowing: when a cruise ship is in port or a coach party lands, it fills up and slows right down, and orders occasionally come out wrong. There's a kids' menu, and takeaway if you'd rather eat outside.
