Don't be put off by the slightly tired decor — this is a family-run place in Cirencester where the food does the talking and the welcome is genuinely warm. Portions are enormous: a Korean sticky chicken that people come back for, gammon cut an inch thick with fresh pineapple, thick chunky chips crisp outside and fluffy within. Breakfasts are big and properly cooked, with strong vegetarian and vegan choices, plenty of gluten-free options and a separate fryer for chips. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access, free parking is a two-minute walk away, and the staff are patient and happy to talk you through the menu. Dogs are allowed downstairs. It's not perfect — the odd main arrives overcooked — but most families leave very full and very happy.
