A proper Glasgow boozer with the longest bar in the UK downstairs — but the room to know about with children is upstairs, where the lounge is calmer, roomier and does actual meals rather than just pints. Buggy access and high chairs are sorted, there's a kids' menu, and prices are the real draw: meal-and-a-drink deals around £8 and 2-for-£11 mains, plus Guinness stew and fish and chips that people come back for. Service is warm and consistent — regulars say the same faces look after them every visit, checking tables even when it's heaving. Two honest snags: you order and pay at the bar before anything arrives, which is awkward mid-meltdown, and the downstairs bar is rammed at Friday lunchtime. Head straight upstairs. The bar pies are a shadow of what they were.
