A handy stop if you're heading to Llangorse lake, and worth booking at busy times because it fills up fast. Tables inside are spread out enough that a pram isn't a problem, and even when packed the noise level stays manageable — plus there's a garden with some shaded outdoor seating for when children need to be outside. Free parking is plentiful, high chairs and a kids' menu are there, and the toilets are clean. Food is home cooked, arrives hot and is fairly priced; on a quiet day a wrap and chips landed in about ten minutes, though at peak times expect a 30-minute wait with drinks brought out straight away. Save room — the banoffee pie, lemon cheesecake and gooey chocolate brownie get proper raves, and the honey ice cream is made with their own honey.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
