A proper brunch stop rather than a quick coffee, and worth the detour if you're passing through Penistone — one family swapped a motorway service station for it and were glad they did. There's buggy access and high chairs, a kids' menu that's been thought about rather than tacked on, and free parking, which takes the sting out of arriving with everyone hungry. The eggs are the thing here: Benedict, Turkish eggs, scrambled with chives, and pancakes or French toast off the specials board. Coffee is excellent, the bacon has a small cult following, and dogs are welcome too. Staff are warm and quick to smile. Two honest snags: it isn't cheap, and at busy weekend times seating upstairs can get muddled and food can take a while, so allow more than a dash-in-dash-out half hour.
