Barbecue · Swindon
Big American-style barbecue in a smartly refurbished pub, and the beer garden is the draw in warm weather — roomy enough for a pram, with plenty of space to let restless children wander a little. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking, and the welcome tends to be genuinely warm; staff are noticeably good with little ones and go out of their way for birthdays and occasions, often turning up with a cake and a sign. Food-wise, the brisket gets the loudest praise, along with the smokehouse platter, dusted tots, mac 'n' cheese and pit beans, and free popcorn keeps hungry children occupied while you wait. Portions are very filling. It's pricey for what it is, some find the food merely decent, and it gets busy — worth booking.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
