Red Lion
A characterful Sheffield pub serving classic food, with outdoor seating and a warm 4.2-star welcome for families wanting a laid-back bite.

Tea room · Sheffield
A forties, wartime-themed room where the smell of baking hits you at the door, and the cakes and scones are all made on site — one visitor called the scones "to die for", and the lemon meringue roulade and hot chocolate get the same treatment. Gluten-free is handled properly: toasties, and toast with poached eggs and salmon. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access, and the two women running it are chatty and genuinely warm — people come back as much for the conversation as the food. Prices are low for what arrives. The honest caveat: it's small, so a pram plus a table is a squeeze at busy times and it's worth timing your visit outside the lunch rush. No dogs. Good for a slow, gentle lunch rather than a boisterous one.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
