Stefano's Italian Restaurant
Warm, well-priced Pontcanna Italian with a kids' menu, generous portions, free parking and staff who genuinely welcome children.

Restaurant · Cardiff
Cardiff parents will find this a calmer, more grown-up sort of lunch than the usual high-street options, though the kids' menu and high chairs mean the children are genuinely catered for. Free parking helps, and buggy access is fine once you're in — though the entrance is awkward, with steps between the door and the host's podium, so expect a slightly clumsy arrival with a pram. Inside it's chic, with low-volume music, so conversation is easy and nobody's shouting. The sourdough with marmite butter converts even marmite-haters, the sea bass gets singled out repeatedly, and the Sunday roast is a draw. Portions lean elegant rather than belt-loosening, and it's not cheap, though set menus can be excellent value. Book ahead, and there's outdoor seating for warmer days.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
