Café · Cardiff
A cosy spot on Cowbridge Road where the portions do a lot of the heavy lifting — two children can genuinely share one pancake stack and both walk out full. The pancakes are the draw (they turn up all over social media for a reason), but the potato tots get just as much love, crisp outside and fluffy in, and the breakfasts and bagels are hearty. Buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu and vegan options are all sorted, and staff are consistently warm — several families mention being served with a smile even when it's busy. Two honest snags: ordering runs through a QR code that can crawl at peak times (the counter is quicker), and it's not cheap for a fry-up and coffee. Worth booking a table online before you walk down, especially at weekends.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
