Café · Warwick
Come up the flight of 21 locks on foot or by boat and this little canalside café is exactly the reward you want at the end. It's cosy rather than roomy inside — lots of canal bits and pieces hanging from the walls and ceiling — so with a pram you'll be better off at one of the many outdoor tables, some shaded under trees, where children can watch the boats work through the locks and the ducks potter about. That view buys you a good twenty minutes of peace. Food is freshly made and generous: all-day breakfast with properly thick bacon, pork baps, paninis, a decent salad selection, and scones one regular calls "from another world". There's a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking, and the small team is quick and friendly. It gets busy on sunny weekends, so arrive early.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
