West End Brewery
Easygoing Southampton pub with traditional fare, draft beer and outdoor seating — a low-key, low-cost spot for a casual family bite.

Cafés · Southampton
Tucked in near a play park with its own parking, this is the kind of small community café that makes a stop after the swings genuinely easy — buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu, and tables outside if you'd rather let everyone spill out. There's a serving window for ordering from outside, handy with muddy boots or a sleeping baby in the pram. Staff are warm and quick even when it's busy, and one visitor arriving early was simply waved in before opening. Food gets consistent praise: the coleslaw (a guarded recipe), good coffee and vanilla lattes, a proper cake selection, vegan options, and generous afternoon tea for a group. Tea is cheap at £2.50 a pot. Books scattered about kept one child happily occupied. Cake slices have occasionally arrived smaller than they look.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
