The Wildfowler Inn
A family-friendly Newtownards pub with a kids' menu, high chairs, and outdoor seating — relaxed enough for an easy meal with little ones.

Restaurants · Newtownards
Perched above Strangford Lough with the Mourne Mountains in the distance, this is a garden-centre restaurant that turns a routine lunch into something of an outing — there's a shop and garden to wander round afterwards when small people need to move. Parking is free, buggies get in fine, and there are high chairs and a kids' menu. Breakfast is the strong suit: the Farmer's fry is enormous (with a deep-fried hash brown), and the pancakes — buttermilk chicken and bacon, or sweet — get raved about, as do the scones, which come in cherry, apple, lemon curd and raspberry white chocolate. Staff are warm and quick to make a fuss of a birthday. Outdoor tables with that view are the pick on a dry day. The themed afternoon teas are a lovely treat but book ahead — they're popular and portions are huge.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
