Tucked beside a lake just outside Hull, this is the sort of stop that works when you need everyone out of the car and somewhere calm. There's indoor seating and tables outside looking over the water, so there's room to park a buggy and let children watch the ducks between courses — one family of five with three young ones called it a 10/10 morning. High chairs, a kids' menu and free parking are all sorted, and the farm shop next door sells local produce, plants and jam if you need a bribe on the way out. The outdoor shelter has no heating, so wrap up in winter.
