Smoking Cow
A mid-priced Cambridge restaurant with a 4.4 rating, handy for a relaxed sit-down meal out.

Restaurant · Cambridge
A market stall rather than a sit-down place, so plan around it — you're eating outside on the Great St Mary's side of the market, near the flower stall, which suits a pram far better than a cramped dining room and means no one minds a noisy toddler. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access, and food comes off the griddle fast, which matters when someone's melting down. The owner makes the sauces himself, including a mole that's been going a decade, and the tacos, halloumi sticks, halloumi wrap and loaded fries all get raved about. Portions are satisfying and about £10 a head. One visitor drove back the next morning for a second helping. Bring layers and a wet-weather plan — there's no shelter to retreat into.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
