Down by the water at Burton Waters, this is a small Greek place with a nice outlook and free parking right there, which takes the stress out of arriving with a car full of children. The menu is short but covers plenty of traditional dishes, and portions are big enough that most families won't need extras — several people mention having no room left for dessert, though the desserts get raved about anyway. Staff are warm and funny with tables, and food usually arrives quickly, though on a busy night it can slip badly. It's a proper little restaurant rather than a soft-play sort of place, so it suits calmer children or an early sitting; there's a kids' menu, high chairs and outdoor tables. Pricier than a pub tea, and worth booking — one parent got a table at short notice, but that was luck.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
