Italian · Bristol
A family-run Italian near the city centre that manages the rare trick of feeling cosy and buzzy at once — homely enough that a four-year-old gets proper attention from the staff, calm enough that you're not shouting over the room. Food arrives fast and hot, which matters when someone's patience is running out, and there are high chairs and a kids' menu. The lasagne al forno draws the most love (generous, high-quality meat, "still thinking about it two days later" for one parent), alongside hand-stretched pizzas, a well-made carbonara and a specials board of fresh fish — swordfish, monkfish, clams. Sautéed potatoes are perfectly salted; the garlic bread with tomato sauce is basically a meal on its own. It's a touch pricier than the average neighbourhood Italian, and worth booking at weekends.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
