Somewhere between an 80s throwback and a proper Italian neighbourhood spot, this large restaurant in the middle of town has been a Glastonbury fixture for decades — families come back year after year. The room is roomy enough for a pram and there are high chairs, a kids' menu and free parking, which takes the sting out of a town that gets rammed. The garlic pizza gets rhapsodies, the minestrone is called the finest for miles, and the pasta with cream and mushroom and the Italian chocolate dessert both earn their keep. Two courses and a drink came to around £25 a head on one half-term visit. The staff are known for squeezing people in without a booking, though service can slow when it's busy — one parent says to give it a moment before the order's taken. Portions are on the modest side for the price. Book ahead at weekends.
