Set inside a converted 19th-century library, this is one of the more striking rooms in Cambridge — high ceilings, beautiful detailing, and enough space that a pram isn't a problem. The kids' menu comes in for real praise rather than being an afterthought, and there are high chairs, outdoor seating in decent weather, and free parking, which takes the sting out of a family trip into town. Staff are generally warm with children; families with toddlers in tow have had genuinely relaxed meals here. Order the drunken noodles or the ribs. Two honest caveats: it's a bit pricey for what it is, and service can be slow to get going when they're busy — worth booking and going early with hungry children. It also gets loud and warm as the evening fills up.
