The Nelson Pub, Norwich
Budget-friendly Norwich pub with high chairs, a kids' menu, gluten-free options and step-free buggy access.

Pub · Norwich
A riverside spot opposite Anderson's Meadow, this Norwich pub has grown into a genuinely welcoming place for families — one family travelled from Cambridge for a garden party and called it the most child-friendly place in the city. The beer garden is the real draw: it runs right down to the water, there's paddle board hire and a pop-up sauna, and on a warm day it's hard to beat. Plenty of room for a pram out there, high chairs inside, a kids' menu and free parking. Food is solid rather than fancy — the burgers get good marks, and the Sunday roast has delicious gravy and generous beef, though the roast potatoes can be stingy for the price. Worth knowing: when big events are on, service slows noticeably, so it's not the night for hungry, tired children.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
