Bucks Bar - Grindlay Street Edinburgh
Rock and roll bar doing outstanding fried chicken and wings, with a kids' menu, high chairs and generous portions at fair prices.

Italian · Edinburgh
Tucked near the Usher Hall, this small family-run Italian is the kind of place that works for a proper sit-down dinner with children in tow — high chairs, a kids' menu, vegan options and a few outdoor tables. It's snug rather than sprawling, so a bulky pram may be a squeeze at busy times, and weekend evenings fill up; worth booking. What comes out of the kitchen is the draw: pizza with light, blistered, slightly tangy dough, generous risotto, piping-hot lasagne and a tiramisu people talk about long after. Food arrives fast even when it's heaving, which matters when someone's patience is thinning. The team are genuinely warm — one visitor said they left feeling "like family" — though occasionally a touch over-attentive, and the odd starter has landed lukewarm.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
