Food comes out fast — genuinely useful when someone's unravelling in the pushchair — and the owners tend to stop for a chat rather than rush you along. The all-day veggie breakfast gets a lot of love, as does the tea, and prices are gentle for what arrives on the plate. Two honest caveats: the dining room is hard-surfaced and echoey, so a lively table carries and it can get properly loud; and the toilets have been hit and miss, worth a check before you take a toddler in. Simple, warm, unfussy — one parent sums it up as "does what it says on the tin".
