The Smithfield Market Tavern
Pub in Manchester with outdoor seating — 4.5★ (1,008 Google reviews).

Restaurant · Manchester
There's an open kitchen and wood smoke here, plus proper stoves that make it feel warm and a bit different from the usual Manchester restaurant — and the outdoor tables are heated by a wood fire, so eating outside works even when it's cold. Portions are generous and good value for ££: the Sunday roast draws the most praise (tender beef, a huge crisp Yorkshire, properly seasoned roast potatoes), and the cauliflower cheese, lamb koftas and fresh, fluffy pittas come up again and again. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices, so nobody's stuck. Staff are attentive and happy to move you to a warmer table. It's lively rather than hushed, and side dishes can trail the mains by ten minutes — worth ordering everything together with hungry children.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
