Big, bright and roomier than it looks from outside — there's proper space between tables for a pram, and enough seating that you rarely wait for one, even with eight of you. The draw is the carvery: three meats, a decent spread of veg, good Yorkshires and gravy (they'll bring a gravy boat), with a midweek all-you-can-eat deal that keeps a family meal genuinely cheap. Breakfast is good too, and the tea, coffee and soft drinks come on constant refill, which saves a small fortune. Order at the table by QR code or at the bar, so nobody has to queue with a fractious toddler. Staff are warm and check back on you. The loos are kept spotless. Cakes are enormous and can be boxed up to take home — one parent calls the place somewhere they "escape" to twice a week. Worth booking for bigger groups.
