Farm Shop · Castle Douglas
A working farm just outside Castle Douglas that turns out to be a proper full-day outing rather than a quick stop. The indoor soft play is the anchor — clean, themed, no time limit, and pitched wide enough that a toddler and a six-year-old can both get on with it, with free jugs of water brought out while they play. Outside there are barns to wander, a sand area, goats to feed and donkeys, plus an outdoor play area and garden centre. Food is fresh and locally sourced: burgers, the roast beef baguette and steak focaccia all get praise, and the gelato hut is the thing families come back for. Free parking, buggy-friendly, dogs allowed at the grassy picnic benches. The gift shop is on the pricey side, and it's a little off the beaten track — worth the drive.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
