Tank & Paddle York
A relaxed York pub with outdoor seating, tasty burgers and pizza, and a solid 4.3 rating from families and locals alike.

Italian · York
Two floors, a small footprint, and a proper open kitchen you can watch from the ground floor — which is charming until the clatter makes conversation hard, so a chatty toddler won't stand out but you may struggle to hear them. Tables sit close together, so a pram needs a bit of steering, though there's buggy access, high chairs and a children's menu. The upstairs room is quieter but has less atmosphere and can start cold. Food comes fast and hot: the vegetarian lasagne tastes properly made from scratch, the fried brie oozes, the seafood risotto has a chilli kick, and there's gluten-free pasta and a pizza-crust garlic bread. The £15 lunch menu is genuinely filling. Staff notice things — fresh forks between courses, several checking in — and nobody gets rushed. Busy at weekends, but one visitor found tables free without booking.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
