Somewhere between a proper bakery and a proper lunch stop, this Chard spot has built a following over years — it won a Cafe of the Year award, and it shows in how the team greet returning families by name. Pizzas and milkshakes are the headline: kids go mad for the shakes, and one visitor swears the jalapeños lift the pizza to another level. Three people did a full English with drinks for £27, so it's genuinely good value. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access, outdoor seating and free parking, plus gluten-free, vegan and — unusually — proper lactose-free milk. Service tends to be quick, which helps when patience is running short. It does get busy, and one long-time regular felt the pizzas had slipped slightly of late. Dogs are welcome too, biscuits included.
