Tucked a few minutes' drive out of Conwy, this pancake place sits on a site with a small nature reserve, so lunch can be split either side of a wander — a little trail, ducks and chickens you can buy feed for from the aquatic shop, and an aquarium to look round when children need to move. Parking out front is free and easy, buggy access is fine, and there are high chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor tables. The menu is long: savoury pancakes like ham, cheese and mushroom, plus sweet ones with hot cherries and cream, all plate-sized European style rather than fat American stacks. Portions are generous and food comes out fast. Staff are patient and warm, and the kitchen handles coeliac orders separately. Weekend tables get reserved, so book — and it's pricey for pancakes.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
