Lively Bangor restaurant with a kids' menu, high chairs, gluten-free choices, step-free buggy access and outdoor seating.

Irish · Bangor, County Down
A proper Bangor institution, and the sort of place where the welcome does a lot of the heavy lifting — the owners and staff are famously chatty and kind, happy to talk you through the area or make room for a big family group. Portions are generous to the point of comical, there's a kids' menu and high chairs, and buggy access plus free parking take the stress out of arriving. The upstairs function room handles birthdays and larger tables, and the hidden beer garden out the back is a lovely spot in warm weather. Steak night and Sunday lunch draw the crowds — proper homemade onion rings and chunky chips get particular praise — though the kitchen can be uneven, and Sunday roasts have disappointed some. Book ahead if seating matters to you, and mention any dietary needs, as gluten-free requests are handled well.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
