A cheese-focused spot in the middle of Cambridge that works better with children than you'd expect — the room is big and light with plenty of seating, so a pram isn't a problem, and there are high chairs, a kids' menu and a few tables outside. The small-plates option is the useful bit with children: order a couple of things quickly rather than waiting on a full course. Portions are generous across the board — the pork belly, prawns and pork bun all get singled out, and the fondue is worth the extra steak. It's not cheap, and it's busy enough that booking matters. Worth knowing: the raclette is finished at your table on a hot machine, which is genuinely lovely to watch but not something to have within reach of small hands. One group of three ate well with wine for £82.
