Breakfast is the reason to come, and it holds up with children in tow — the full English arrives piping hot and generously done, the pancakes get genuine raves, and there's a vegetarian full English that's hard to find anywhere else nearby. Prices are reasonable for what lands on the plate. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and outdoor tables, and the inside seats are comfortable with good people-watching through the window and music on low. Staff stay cheerful and put mix-ups right quickly, which matters when someone small is fraying. Two honest snags: it gets busy and, when only a couple of people are on, food can take ten minutes or more; and the coffee is the weak link — fine, not special. The room could use a refresh. Handy for a stop on the way to the Cathedral.
