Bigger inside than the frontage suggests — a bit of a tardis, with plenty of tables, so there's usually somewhere to park a buggy and settle in. It's a properly pretty room, and the calm of it does something to small children; drinks arrive on little trays, high chairs are there, and the team are quick and genuinely welcoming, which matters when someone's hungry now. Brunch is the strength: good coffee, standout chai (the pumpkin one has a following), and a counter of cakes including a decent run of gluten-free. Vegan options too, and a kids' menu. Honest snags — portions can run small for the price, the cooked breakfast is the weak link, and the tall chairs at the high tables leave little ones reaching up. Ask for a normal table. Outdoor seating in warm weather.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
